J. Paul Sugameli
J. Paul Sugameli graduated with a Bachelors degree in Economics from Michigan State University before attending Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, Michigan. During law school, Paul worked, first for NBD Bank offices in Harper Woods, Detroit, Taylor, Bloomfield Hills and Grosse Pointe, and then as a judicial clerk in the Oakland County Circuit Court (6th Judicial Circuit Court of Michigan). As a banker for NBD Bank, Paul worked with individuals and businesses, understanding the unique needs inherent to operation of small and mid-size businesses. As a judicial law clerk, Paul gained valuable legal experience, participating in the conducting of jury trials and bench trials, legal pleading review, docket management and worked closely with Judges of one of the largest circuit courts in Michigan. Paul graduated from Wayne State University Law School in December 2000 before taking, and passing, the February 2001 Michigan Bar Examination. Paul then worked as an associate attorney for the law firm of Sugameli & Olson, PLC in Troy before going into partnership with his father, Michael J. Sugameli, to form Sugameli & Sugameli, PLC in 2006. Expanding his practice closer to his Macomb County home, Paul formed Sugameli Attorneys and Counselors, PLC in December 2017.
Centrally located in downtown Mt. Clemens, Michigan, yards from the Macomb County Circuit Court, Sugameli Attorneys and Counselors, PLC serves clients in virtually every aspect of civil law. Specializing in business representation from formation and administration, to contract drafting and review, to real property leasing and sale to litigation, Paul’s clients range from individual start-ups to multi-billion dollar publicly traded domestic and international corporations, and everything in between. Paul’s practice also focuses on civil litigation, construction law, estate planning (wills and trust) and probate law including estate and trust administration, adult guardianships and conservatorships decedents estates. Paul practices in district and circuit courts across Southeastern Michigan including Macomb, Oakland, Wayne, Livingston, Washtenaw, Ingham, Lapeer, Genesee, Monroe and St. Clair as well as administrative courts, the Michigan Court of Claims and state and federal appellate courts. Paul is a long-time resident of Macomb Township with his wife, two teenage sons and his beagle. He is Spartan green and a hopeless supporter of Arsenal F.C. Paul spends his free time with his family and enjoys outdoor activities like swimming and cycling along with traveling all over the Midwest, and the rest of the country, as manager to his son’s travel soccer team.
